Doula and Birth Photographer in Atlanta | Happy World Doula Week

Five years into being a birth doula, I am still in awe of it all. Women, partners, and birth itself continuously surprise me--and that I get to do this as a job blows me away. I get to guide and support families through the biggest times of transition, and witness the most powerful moments of women's lives! How cool is that??

In Atlanta we are lucky to have many birth options for families now (many more than when my first son was born 9 years ago), and we are lucky to have so many amazing women who support families as doulas. I am honored to be a piece of the Atlanta doula community.

As an Atlanta birth photographer, many times I get to witness and document the love and strength that doulas provide. This is one of my favorite doula photographs I've taken, of the amazing Shari Aizenman at work. I call this "I got you"

Birth photography preserves the raw, emotional, and powerful experience of bringing a new life into the world. It can be a source of empowerment and celebration. Seeing the photographs afterward allows parents, especially mothers, to witness their own strength and resilience. It highlights the incredible journey they went through and the support system around them. For families, these photographs become cherished heirlooms, celebrating the start of a new chapter and the enduring love that surrounds the birth of a child. It's a powerful way to honor and remember the experience, turning fleeting moments into lasting memories.

In 2018 I joined forces with two other doula birth photographers to create The Birth Story Collective. You can see our work over at www.thebirthstorycollective.com
